How can I play tournament backgammon online for free with an AI Coach?

What is the best opening move in backgammon?

The strongest opening roll is 3-1 played 8/5 6/5 (+0.194 equity), which immediately makes the Golden Point (5-point). It is followed by 4-2 (8/4 6/4, +0.168) and 6-1 (13/7 8/7, +0.155, securing the Bar Point).

When should I double and take with the Doubling Cube in backgammon?

Offer a double when your winning chances exceed ~66% with market volatility (Market Losers). Accept (Take) a double as long as your winning probability remains above ~21.5% with a live cube (or 25.0% in a gammonless dead-cube race).

How is Performance Rating (PR) calculated in backgammon?

Following the eXtreme Gammon (XG) international standard, PR equals your average equity loss per non-forced checker and cube decision multiplied by 500. A PR below 5.0 represents Grandmaster-level play.
